Nepal Introduces Special Price Adjustment Rules for Construction Contracts

On 29 October, Nepal introduced the Special Price Adjustment Procedure, 2083, to address exceptional increases in construction material, fuel, labour, equipment and transportation costs. Eligible projects may receive adjustment where price increases exceed 10% of the relevant baseline, while the total special adjustment is capped at 25% of the original contract value. The procedure creates compliance and contract-management requirements for public agencies, contractors and legal advisers; the 25% figure is a compensation ceiling, not a government contract award. Construction companies and compliance teams can explore opportunities in contract monitoring, cost tracking and digital documentation. HPC can support reporting and data-management systems; contact HPC for a quotation based on your project scope.
