Liberia Launches US$1 Million Small-Scale Mining Formalisation Programme

Liberia’s Ministry of Mines and Energy announced the FASMIN project to formalise artisanal and small-scale mining, strengthen regulatory oversight and improve miners’ livelihoods. The initiative is supported by a US$2 million African Development Bank grant shared with Sierra Leone, with US$1 million allocated to Liberia. HPC can support the programme with environmental monitoring, mining-data analytics, ESG reporting and digital compliance systems.
